DAVE uses meshes for calculation of buoyancy and tank volumes.

These meshes have to be clean and coherent. No holes, gaps, loose ends, double defined faces, flipped normal et. cetera.

One of the tools that can inspect and repair your mesh is MeshLab.

Remember: Normals need to point away from the object. So:

  • For buoyancy the normals need to point into the fluid.
  • For tanks the normals need to point away from it.
